It’s cute with a retro vibe! There are rides, games, shops, restaurants, etc.

Also you can walk to the park, pier and beach (the opposite side of the peninsula) 🏖

Or get on the ferry for Balboa Island and Catalina Island. ⛴

It is not a big area, however, it’s a literal “fun zone” for exploration 🧡

I’ll post some places that I like in Balboa Island and Lido Marina, some time soon! ⚓️💙

Verbatim Bookstore - there are a ton of books, mainly secondhand ones. I found old Japanese books that made me nostalgic. 📚☺️

I love this bookstore. It makes me feel that books are loved timelessly, and it reminds me of the great parts of paper books. 💞
I read books on devices sometimes, but I prefer paper books to have a digital detox time because I’m fully on screen for my job.

It’s a joy to explore what books they have every time I visit there, it’s like a treasure hunt finding great books that inspire me, and it’s exciting to picture what kind of journey each book has been on as it goes from person to person, time to time..💞

I’d bring some of my books next time for their departure on a new journey to meet & inspire someone else 💘

サンディエゴでよく行く本屋さん📚主にセカンドハンドの本がおいてあって、古い日本の本や日本語の子供用の本も😳

出版時期や言語もさまざまな本があって、本が愛されてきたことを実感し、
デジタルで本を読むこともたまにあるけど、お仕事で常に💻を使ってるから、デジタルデトックスの時間を確保するために紙の本を選ぶことが多い私は本屋さんが大好き🥰📚

訪れるたびに、どんな本があるかなあって思いながら探すのは楽しくて、本とのすてきな出会いはまるで宝探しのようで、本が人から人へとわたっていくjourneyを想像するのもワクワク💓

今度は私が読み終わった本を持っていって、新しい旅立ちを見送りたいな😇

COLOR has a power that influences you 🌈💗💗
SoCal is very colorful and that gives me happy, positive & vibrant feelings! This is one of my favorite parts of living in San Diego! so colorful & cheerful! 🌺

I’ve lived in different places throughout my life both by family needs and my own. I believe there are pros & cons anywhere. However, I love finding the good pieces and focusing on them to enjoy living in each place to the fullest!

Very curious for what kind of places are out there where I haven’t been yet! 🌏 I’d love to keep exploring the world by traveling and maybe living in, hopefully I can find the perfect place for after retirement. Lol

SoCal に住んでるといたるところがカラフルで、その鮮やかさから、ハッピーでポジティブなパワーを感じられるところが好き☺️🌺
色鮮やかな植物、青い海と緑の山などの自然、ほかにもたくさんお魅力があってサンディエゴが大好き😚✌🏼

昔から引越しが多く(家族の都合や自分の意思で)いろんなところに住んできたけど、もちろんあまり乗り気じゃない場所もあった🤐
でもどんな場所でも長所・短所があるから、その土地の魅力や良い面をたくさん見つけて、そこにフォーカスして生活するのがたのしい🥳努力しても肌感覚が合わなかったら…それは仕方ない🫣笑

まだまだ世界中の素敵なところを見つけたいから、いろんなところへ旅行したり、住んでみたりしながら、”いつか歳を取ったときに長く住む場所”を探していきたいなあ😌💗

Do you love Matcha? 🍵 I consider myself very specific for Matcha, maybe because I am Japanese 💁🏻‍♀️🇯🇵
Holy Matcha is based in San Diego, and one my favorite Matcha cafes in the States.

The shop is super cute & vibrant, and a women-owned business which I love to support 💗 The owner @geraldiniiii opened it after her trip to Japan, and she also went to the tea leaf field & factory in Uji, Kyoto for Matcha. That shows her love and respect for Matcha, in my opinion 🍵💓 I’d love to go back again soon! 💘

サンディエゴのかわいい×おいしい抹茶カフェ💗
アメリカでも人気の抹茶🍵抹茶の味が薄かったり、甘味料が足されてたりちょっぴり残念な思いをすることもあるけど、サンディエゴ発×複数店舗展開しているHoly Matchaの抹茶はおいしくてお気に入り💓

女性経営者が日本へ旅行したあとに開いたそうで、宇治の茶畑や工場へ行ったり、抹茶への愛とリスペクトを感じるところも好き🍵💓

ピンクと緑のお店もかわいい💕違う店舗はピンクとお花づくしでそれもまたかわいい💘

Have you ever been to a temple with art?
Kenninji which was built in the year 1202 is a temple with a long history, lovely atmosphere, and also art including National treasures! ✨💎

Look at this beautiful art on Fusuma doors! 😳💗 It’s fun to enter each room with excitement for what kind of art you’ll see.

The art on the ceiling (last pic) is breathtakingly amazing, too. 🐉 Again it’s a temple but I felt like I was at a museum.

In addition, there is a pretty Japanese garden which I’d post about sometime soon! 🍂

前にも訪れたことがあった建仁寺に改めて行ってきました📿

1202年に建立された歴史あるお寺ですが、それだけでなく素敵な雰囲気とアートも魅力的💞
襖に描かれたアートが美しく、そして天井画は息を呑む迫力😳‼️

日本庭園もとても気に入りましたが写真がいっぱいなのでまた別で投稿します🍁☺️
