If you are in Taipei, you should try to go eat Taiwanese cuisine at restaurant named Shin Yeh.
Popular Taiwanese Restaurant: Shin Yeh
Before visiting Taiwan, for getting information I asked some of my Taiwanese friends where to go for dinner, and my friends recommended me this restaurant as “Never go wrong” place.
Shin Yeh Mitsukoshi – Nice view
Shin Yeh Original Restaurant
I went to the “original restaurant” which is the original one where is 7 mins away from station.
Food Menu at Shin Yeh
Seasonal Vegetable Stir-fry
They changes the veggies they use, seasonally. But this is very basic Taiwanese (also Chinese) dish that they stir fry with garlic. I thought it’s a bit salty though, it’s nice to have veggies on your meal all the time 🙂

Steamed Crab and Roe on Glutinous Rice
I highly recommend you to try this Steamed Crab and Roe on Glutinous Rice at this restaurant since this is one of significant dishes of them!
Not only that, this dish is essential at wedding in Taiwan which must be famous food.
There are glutinous rice, red crab, mushrooms, pork, carrots, deep fried red onions, and coriander. It is a little bit much for 2 of us, so I would say it would be good for 3-4 people or not to order many of other dishes.
Price: TW$830
Dessert – Sweetened Almond Tofu
You would imagine Tofu in syrup, but I would say the texture is a little bit same as tofu, but its taste is totally different from tofu especially sold in USA.
It is more like jelly in syrup with peach. It is worth to try 😉
