Maxim’s Palace is traditional wagon serving dim sum (yum cha) restaurant in Hong kong.
I had a nice yum cha lunch there.
What’s is Maxim’s palace?
This place is very family-friendly, and acceptable for big group!
You can have a great view since this restaurant is located nearby ocean.
Be there before 11:30 for lunch
It’s very crowded around lunchtime, so i’d recommend you to go before 11:30.
I could get a seat as soon as we arrived at 11:30. and there was a long line when i left around 12:30.
Food and beverage
How to order
They are walking around with pushing wagons, so if they have something you want to eat, you can just ask them to bring.
Some of them show you what it is, and ask you if you want or not. Others just put the plate on the table and leave.
The difficult thing was, that i cannot read Cantonese. so i just looked it and gave it a try.
They put stamp on your bill, and they will calculate how much it is at last when you ask them a bill.
Beverage
You can choose what kind of tea you’d drink, i choose jasmine tea.
Other than tea, you can order juices and alcohol too.
Food – my recommendation
About food, my friend and I couldn’t figure out what kind of food they are having on each wagon, so we tried a lot of kinds of food.
After all, my recommendation are shrimp dumpling, soup dumplings, and sesame dumpling.
Shrimp dumpling
Shrimps are so chewy 🦐 It’s tasty even without source.
Soup dumplings
Right side of this picture, it’s very juicy!! Also hot inside, be noted.
Sesame dumpling
Top of this picture. I’d recommend you to have it as dessert due to its sweetness.
