Daikanyama has so many places to eat, that you might get overwhelmed deciding which one to pick. Here are (my) best restaurants and cafes that I’ve been to!
Best Restaurants in Daikanyama
Daikanyama is one of my favorite areas in Tokyo, very convenient but not too packed. More relaxing than other busy neighborhoods like Shibuya or Shinjuku. There are a lot of good restaurants there, and there are many kinds of restaurant like Japanese, French, Spanish, Cuban, Italian, Mexican, etc.
I have been to all of the restaurants below, I’ve included my own pictures, but imbedded the restaurants official Instagram if I don’t have pictures.
Sal y Amor : Spanish Restaurant in Daikanyama
SAL Y AMOR is one of my favorite Spanish restaurants in Tokyo! It’s a bib gourmand restaurant for 7 years in row (2016-2022)!!
Once you get in the restaurant, it feels like Spain. The staff speak Spanish, the décor is nice, etc.
The name of this restaurant is actually “Arroceria Sal y Amor”. As it says “Arroceria”, they have over 15 kinds of paella, and their paella is worth going for! I had a seafood paella that came with big shrimp, clams, mussels, etc. I also liked the yellowtail carpaccio. The almond cake was also great!
They have a great course that you can make a reservation for, check out their website!
Caffe Michelangelo : Italian Cafe in Daikanyama
It’s a very famous café in Daikanyama, so much so that there always seems to be a line outside. I waited for an hour. There are a lot of tables inside, also there is a garden too. They have pasta, sandwiches, desserts, etc., so you can either have a meal or enjoy your café time. Both espresso and cappuccino were great ☕️

Isshin Daikanyama
This restaurant is located in the basement, which you might pass by without noticing. However, I’d recommend this restaurant if you want to try authentic Japanese food. I also like the atmosphere here, very relaxing.
They carefully choose the plates that they use at the restaurant.
Their Kakuni – a big chunk of simmered pork belly, is so good! It goes well with rice, and the rice tastes great, too. They also have seasonal menus where you can enjoy the ingredients of the season. They also have many sakes that go well with the food.
Bistro Favori : French Restaurant in Daikanyama
It’s a house style restaurant with a nice atmosphere that could be good for any situation. I went to this restaurant with my co-workers before. It’s also known as a wedding venue. They have terrace seats and counter seats, too.
The salad was colorful and beautiful; you can enjoy with just your eyes. Their pork roast was really tender, not heavy, matching well with the veggies.
Hacienda del Cielo : Mexican Restaurant
It’s a bit difficult to find, but you can access it by using the elevator. This Mexican restaurant has a cute colorful décor and nice view, especially at night.
They have a lunch menu that is very reasonable. For dinner, small plates and beverage are inexpensive.
I like this restaurant because it’s perfect for many situations like a friend-gathering, girl’s brunch with some drinks, birthday party, date ( I went to this place with my husband on our 2nd date lol ).
It might not be “exactly” the same Mexican as you eat in Mexico, but it’s pretty good, in my opinion.
Cafe Havana Tokyo : Cuban Restaurant
Café Havana is a Cuban Restaurant from New York City. I personally don’t know many places where you can eat Cuban food in Tokyo, so I go to Café Havana when I like to eat Cuban food.
They have quesadillas, Ceviche, Cubano, Grilled corn, Torta, Pollo Mirador, Camarones Al Ajillo, etc. The Teriyaki Torta is served only in Tokyo! Also you can find Cuban style beverages like Café con leche, Café Cubano, Mojito and Canchanchara!
Pizza Slice Tokyo : NY style Pizza

I used to go to this place quite often when I missed NY style pizza. (I used to live in NY). A long time ago, the owner told me that he learned how to make pizza in NYC.
As soon as you get there, you can feel the NY vibe from their décor. That is something I also like.
They display pizzas just like they do in pizza places in NYC. When you order, they warm it up for you. You can grab a slice of pizza or a whole pie. I usually get 2 slices and lemonade. They have alcoholic beverage, too.
