Revolving sushi is just normal “cheap” sushi place in Japan, but it is totally different once you get out from Japan. My husband (American) and I (Japanese) found one named “Kura Revolving Sushi” in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. And we gave it try!
Kura Revolving Sushi
Kura is one of popular revolving sushi restaurants in Japan, and I have been there some times with my family and friends.
So I was looking forward to going there to try even before moving to Las Vegas!
Menu
It is not same as Japan, of course. Looks very americanized but still i found some common dishes.
Nigiri
I found it is less various nigiri they have, but still they have basic kind of nigiris.
As I do always in Japan, I ordered same thing as Salmon, Ikura, Tuna, Spanish Mackerel, and so on.
Roll
They have Americanized sushi rolls which I wouldn’t eat.
Side dish
They have Edamame, Tempura, Gyoza, Karaage (Japanese style fried chicken), Yakisoba(stir noodle) and so on.
Dessert
I didn’t eat anything, but they have a plate of fruits, ice cream, and some Japanese sweets like Taiyaki as same as Japan,
Bikkura Pon
Bikkura Pon is a famous entertainment at Kura sushi restaurant.
You put your plate after eating on the small socket at your table, they count it automatically. And it starts playing Bikkura Pon every 5 plates. Kids love it
If you win, you can get something 😉
Price
One standard plate costs $2.50, which is cheaper than you can get at other restaurants or sushi bar.
Although, usually it is 100yen = $1 per plate at Kura sushi in Japan, so for me, it is a bit pricy.. 🙁
Wrap up – Review
It might be fun for most of people who have never been to the revolving sushi place. Or others who have been to one in Japan and want to try it again.
The restaurant is very clean,
Honestly, I would choose Sushi House Goyemon over Kura sushi here.
