You need to move it to your plate from big plates

Don’t point someone with chopsticks

This is considered very rude, you need to know that you shouldn’t point anyone even with your finger.

Don’t be deciding with chopsticks

Sometimes you don’t know what to eat next, but you can not use your chopsticks going above food to food.

Don’t lick your chopsticks

You shouldn’t lick your chopsticks which is not looking educated.

Don’t hold food with someone else

You can not hold the same piece of food with someone else at the same time.

This is for only time that two people pick the bones(ash) at ceremony of funeral.

Don’t pass food

Due to the same reason as above, you shouldn’t pass food from chopsticks to chopsticks.

Don’t stab

This is what you do when someone die, too. You put some rice on the rice bowl (plate), and stab that person’s chopsticks on it.

Don’t use chopsticks to move something

You need to use your hand on behalf of chopsticks.

It is not a big problem if you are eating by yourself or your family, and also Japanese people don’t expect you using chopsticks based on our rules. Although, it would be better if you pay attention when you eat with Japanese coworkers, your family-in-law, friends. etc.
