Studio Ghibli Spots in Tokyo
Studio Ghibli is a famous studio world wide, that has published a lot of movies like “My neighbor Totoro”, “Kiki’s Delivery”, “Castle in the sky”, “Spirited Away”, etc.
Ghibli Theme Park just opened in 2022, but it’s not fully completed yet. Some parts are going to be opened in 2023 and 2024. However, it’s located in Aichi prefecture which is 3 hours away from Tokyo.
There are some spots where you can go in Tokyo!
Ghibli Museum in Mitaka
This must be the most known Ghibli spot in Tokyo!
It was a bit difficult to get a ticket there, but it all worths it for me. The building itself is beautiful as an architecture, but also you feel like you are in the Ghibli world! I don’t know if you know this or not, but Hayao’s son, Goro Miyazaki used to work in the construction industry. and he designed this museum.
There are an exhibition, goods shop, small movie theater named Doseiza (Saturn), playroom for kids, etc.

Shiro-Hige’s Cream Puff Factory
It’s a very cute shop with a lot of pictures and Ghibli goods (stuffed animals)! You can find some pictures with Hayao’s autograph at store.
Cute Totoro shaped Cream Puff
The main pastry they sell here is Cream Puff filled with much cream. They have all-season flavors; custard and chocolate, also seasonal flavors; strawberry, Matcha, peach, etc.
I bought some of them, flavor of Custard and Chocolate. It literally is filled with much cream, and the cream was great too.
Totoro Cookies – Great Souvenir
Also, they sell Totoro-shaped cookies, and small pies shaped like a leaf, acorn, mushroom, owl, etc. I bought a box of cookies that shaped Totoro. So cute!

This is a house style, and it’s located in the very quiet neighborhood. i liked it 😉

It’s close to the station which is convenient.
The Ghibli Clock designed by Hayao Miyazaki
There is a clock designed by Hayao Miyazaki on the outside of the Nippon TV building in Shiodome. It’s quite big and it looks like it came out from the Ghibli movies.
It’s only working on the scheduled time. Better to check the time and go see it running.
How to Get to the Ghibli Clock, Tokyo
There are multiple stations that you can use.
- Shiodome station – Tokyo Metro Oedo Line
- Shimbashi station – JR Line, Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, Toei Asakusa Line, Yurikamome Line
It’s a bit difficult to find it, but it’s a deck on 2nd floor.
Donguri Kyowa Koku – Ghibli Store in Tokyo
Ghibli has their official goods stores all over Japan. It’s so fun looking around the store. The picture above was taken at Ghibli Store in Ikebukuro. How cute the display is!!
Location : Ghibli Shop in Tokyo
There are multiple locations in Tokyo. I’d say most of them is around tourist destination. I list out some of them in Tokyo which are a directly managed store and also where you can get “Tax Free” at if you are a tourist.
Ghibli Store in Ikebukuro Sunshine
There is a Ghibli shop in Ikebukuro Sunshine where you can get by walking from Ikebukuro Station. It’s a huge mall where you can dine-in, shop, enjoy theme parks and etc.
Ghibli Store in Tokyo Sky Tree Soramachi
There is a shop in Sky Tree Town, Soramachi 2F. If you’d go to Tokyo Sky Tree, it’s easy to stop by.
Ghibli Store in Tokyo Station
Tokyo Character Street where you can find many character’s shops at (under) Tokyo Station. It’s not big, but convenient if you’d stop by before/after getting a train/Shinkansen from Tokyo station.
