Also the first temple which was added to the world heritage in Japan in 1993.
Shrines in Nara
Omiwa Jinja Shrine
It is the oldest shrine in Japan. And there is no main building there, so you’d pray toward Mt. Miwa. People call it a power spot!
You can feel the nature of mountain a lot there. There is two big rocks which called “Meoto Iwa”, Meoto means “married couple”, and Iwa means “rock” in Japanese. It is called like that because these two rocks sit next each other as married couple.
And you can get some lucky charms there, theirs are designed cute rabbit.
Danzan Jinja Shrine
This is also a very old shrine which was built in 678. It is known for good for “love”, and also great view of autumn color.
Most popularly, it is “only” Thirteen-storied pagoda made from wood in the world.
Nara Machi
You can enjoy walking in Nara Machi, and it is fun to walk and eat with having a nice view on old street.
There are a lot of food like fruits, gelatos, donuts, daifuku (Japanese sweet), mochi, and etc.
Nara Deer Park
This might be the most famous thing in Nara, that people would love to do!
Those deer are not aggressive that they wouldn’t attack you (I cannot say it for 100% though).
You can buy food for them called “Shika Senbei” = Deer Cracker. and feed them if you would like.
Enjoy Food – Nara Specialty
Nara might not be the first place coming up to your mind to visit in Japan, but there are a lot of things attractive.
