Yokohama Red Bricks Warehouse
This is one of my favorite places in Yokohama, and i would strongly recommend to go!
History
Japan had trading relationship with only Netherlands, but opened Yokohama port to other country in 1859, and Yokohama red bricks warehouse buildings were built in 1911 and 1913.
In 1923, one of building was half destroyed by the big earthquake, and they fixed it.
It had done to be used for warehouse in 1989, and Yokohama city got it from Japanese government, they decided how to use it after that.
They opened it as a commercial building in 2002.
In 2010, it got “Asia-Pacific Heritage Award for UNESCO Cultural Heritage Conservation” Excellence Award.
Shops
There are many shops inside, and i would recommend you to check some stuff for souvenir too. My German friend found it very interesting there.
Food/Beverage – Restaurant
There are food shops that you can buy to go, also restaurants. Just noted lunch time on weekend is always crazy crowded.
Events
Oktoberfest, Christmas markt, there are many kinds of events! You should check it out 🙂
Yamashita park
The most famous park in Yokohama which locates next to ocean with beautiful views.
It opened in 1930 as one of reconstruction work from the big earthquake.
Hikawa maru
A big ship which is one of a landmark for this park. It is beautiful with lights after evening.

This was given from the association of Indian residents in japan to Yokohama city as an appreciation for helping Indian residents to recover from the big earth quake.

You should check this gelato shop if you like it! It is a very small shop, so no seat.
China town
Yokohama china town is quite big, and people enjoy Chinese shops, architecture, culture, food, etc there!
You can try it there if you like Chinese food, most of them have “All you can eat” with limited time.
Lunch time and dinner time are always packed with people, so you’d better think what time to go there 🙂
Shichifuku

Shichifuku is popular and my recommendation! You should try their xiaolongbao (soup dumpling)!!
They have “all-you-can-eat”, and you need to choose from menu and order what/how much you want. It could be difficult for you if you dont speak Chinese or Japanese. Although they have pictures and numbers on their menu!
If you have any chance to go to Yokohama, check them out! 😉
And i would like to introduce some other stuff in Yokohama sometime soon!
