Miyoshi might be the best Udon noodle restaurant in Kamakura, in my opinion! You can enjoy their handmade Udon noodle with seasonal Kamakura vegetable tempuras!
Miyoshi – Udon Restaurant
Kamakura Miyoshi is one of my favorite Udon noodle restaurant where i took my German friend in Kamakura, and she loved it!
I recommend you to go before/after lunch time since they have only counter seats so you might need to wait for a little bit. And it might be difficult to seat with your companies if you go there a big group.

Miyoshi was selected as Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2015.
It sounds like expensive when you hear “Michelin” selected, however this place was selected by Michelin Bib Gourmand. It’s quite reasonable price like $15.
What is Teuchi Kamaage Udon?
Udon is a kind of noodle which made by flour.
Hand-made Udon
They make every Udon at the restaurant by their own, you can see how they make it while waiting.
Kamaage Udon
Kamaage is the way to cook noodles, they cook Udon in the pot and they serve Udon straight from the pot (not soak in cold water).

They have some kinds of set menu which are Udon+Tenpura, Udon+Donburi(rice bowl) and etc.
Shonan-Kamakura area is famous for “Shirasu”, you can have it with rice bowl if you would like to try!
Udon + Seasonal Tempura
I chose Tengama Torijiru Udon which is, hot kamaage Udon + Chicken soup (to dip noodle in) + Seasonal Tempura.
This chicken soup is very delicious!!!! You can enjoy soy sauce based soup with chicken which is very soft, green onion which tastes sweet, Yuzu (Japanese citrus) which gives an accent, and Mitsuba (Japanese parsley).
And seasonal tempura is crispy! It’s kind of excitements which veggies they serve. I had okra, eggplant, purple burdock, sweet potato, and young corn. Sweet potato impressed me with its sweetness!!!

Teuchi Kamaage Udon Kamakura Miyoshi
You can walk from Kamakura station and it takes less than 10 minutes.
It will be very crowded on Komachi-dori(street) especially on weekend since there are many shops on both side.
- 11:15 am – 8:30 pm (L.O.8 pm)
- Close early if noodles are gone
- Open all-year-round
