Oden at Ishibashi Shokuhin

Oden is Japanese stew-ish food with veggies, meats, seafoods, etc!

The soup tastes different in each shop, also style is different in each area. The odens in Kansai area including Osaka is different from Kanto area (like Tokyo). Usually it’s a bit sweeter in Osaka than one in Tokyo.

My favorite is Gyu-suji (Beef Tendon) and eggs. If you like veggies, try Daikon Raddish!

Ichigo Daifuku at Mitoya

Ichigo Daifuku at Mitoya at Kuromon market, Osaka, Japan

Mitoya was established in 1948, their handmade mochi is loved by local people and tourists.

Ichigo Daifuku (strawberry mochi) is my favorite, and my husband (American) loves it too. They have a lot of kinds of Ichigo daifuku like normal one (white mochi & strawberry), chocolate one (chocolate mochi and strawberry) etc.

It is so soft, chewy and gooey.. difficult to explain though, I just love it!

Fresh Fruit Juice at Daiwa Kaen

Daiwa Kaen has started its business in 1948, and known for great fruits.

In Japan, fruits are expensive (comparing to the U.S.), however I’d say that Japanese fruits are very sweet! It’s a bit pricy to be honest, but hope it worths to try! 😉
