Ishigaki island is a quite small that you can take a look for a day by car. Here is a drive route that you can enjoy beaches, foods, views, etc and have the best experience! I’m sharing the Google Map that I made for you to easily drive around Ishigaki island.
Must Go Places in Ishigaki island
Tamatorisaki Tenbodai (Observatory)
This is located on east side of Ishigaki island so that you can have a view of east side of the island from this observatory.
There is a parking lot, and you need to walk to get there from the parking and there are ups and downs on the way but it completely worth it! I recommend you to go with comfortable shoes.
It’s also nice to take pictures, with beautiful blue ocean and red/pink hibiscus.

Lunch with View at Sea forest – Restaurant
This place is perfect to have a lunch with an amazing ocean view. It takes only 5 mins walk from Tamatorisaki to Sea Forest, it’s perfect to stop by after going the observatory.
I had Taco-rice (Taco meat on rice) which is one of Okinawan dishes fusionend American(Mexican) food.
Lunch cost : ¥1,500-2,500 ( appetizer, soup, salad, and drink included ), which sounds a little bit expensive in Ishigaki but i had a great experience here 🙂
There might have strong winds so be careful for your hat or stuff like that.
Hirakubosaki Toudai (Light house)
Driving through farms for a while, there is the Northern spot of the island.
You need to go up, and actually it’s a bit scary.. I was nervous to get up there but it’s all worth it once I looked over. There is not much to enjoy beside view though, the white light house looks beautiful with blue ocean background.

Yonehara Beach
It’s a beautiful beach with coral and fishes 🐠 You might find turtles if you’re lucky! 💖
Kabira Farm – Refreshment
You can have some refreshment made with Passion fruit at this restaurant.
Vitamins worked so well on me especially after spending whole day under the sun.
Kabira-wan (Kabira Bay)
This is what I’d highly recommend you to go! Selected for one of 100 best views in Japan. It’s very beautiful with clear water, so many fishes and corals.

Sunset at Oganzaki Toudai (Light House)
A perfect place to see the beautiful sunset view.

Ishigaki Beef Dinner at Yakiniku Yamamoto
Yakiniku Yamamoto is a famous Yakiniku Restaurant! There is a small grill place in the center of your table, and you grill by your own.
At Yamamoto, you can enjoy Ishigaki beef! You can also order seafoods and vegetables too.
