Access To Dazaifu
It’s easy to access from Fukuoka Airport / Fukuoka station, and many tourists come here especially for going to Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine. I would say it is one of popular places in Fukuoka to visit.

Needless to say, it is a famous sightseeing spot in Dazaifu, Fukuoka.

Starbucks at Dazaifu Tenmangu Omotesando
In Japan, there are some high-designed starbucks and one of them is here in Dazaifu on “Omotesando” which means on the way to visit and pray at shrine. You can find it when getting Dazaifu Tenmangu from Dazaifu Station.
Designed by Japanese architect, Kengo Kuma, and none of nail is used.
It is nice to see from outside, but also you should have a look inside too!
Food at Dazaifu – What to Eat
Umegae Mochi
Umegae Mochi is one of signature Fukuoka food, you can find a lot of Umegae mochi on the street to get Dazaifu Tenmangu from Dazaifu Station.
Each store has each style, and I tried them at 2 places 😉
If you have a “Dazaifu stroll ticket pack” (1 Day Pass), you get Ticket for Umegae mochi too (depends on which ticket, please check below).
Soba (Noodle) at Yasutake
Yasutake (やす武) is one of famous soba noodle restaurant that they use high quality of soba powder and make noodle from scratch by their own.

Dazaifu Burger Chikushian
You can find an interesting burger: Dazaifu Burger at Chikushian (筑紫庵). Karaage (Japanese style fried chicken), tartar sauce, sour plam sauce, veggies are sandwiched with Toasted buns.

How to Access to Dazaifu?
The closest station is Dazaifu Station in Nishitetsu Dazaifu line.
Fukuoka (Tenjin) to Dazaifu
You can get a train at Nishitetsu Fukuoka statin in Nishitetsu Omuta Line, and transit to Nishitetsu Dazaifu Line at Nishitetsu Futsukaichi station to get Dazaifu station.
If you are at Tenjin station, you can go to Nishitetsu Fukuoka Station by 5 – 10 minutes of walk.
Hakata to Dazaifu
Train
You can get a train at Metro Kuukou(Airport) Line to Tenjin station.
Then same way above from Tenjin Station / Nishitetsu Fukuoka Station.
Bus
You can find a shuttle bus between Hakata (+ Hakata Airport) and Dazaifu, which costs 500 yen and takes 30 minutes.
*you can go to Hakata Airport for International flights from Domestic by Airport shuttle bus for free.
